Feeding off one another

Lethaby Gallery

From Midday

As part of 'Soil, Toil & Table' Exhibition at the Lethaby Gallery. D.I.G (Dykes In Garden) were invited to create a two-part programme. The first event was an afternoon walk exploring King's ross local green space ecologies surrounding the Lethaby Gallery, gathering foraged materials as we go, led by Des Smith, Head Gardener of the area. This was followed by a workshop where we explored fermentation and what is means to us, packing our foraged goods into jars for consuming together at the second part of the programme, a week later.

About

D.I.G (Dykes In (the) Garden)

D.I.G’s practice approaches themes of queerness, ecology research and kinship as a means to encourage queer community building.

Soil, Toil & Table reimagines the natural produce of the land through a radical lens on the human-nature bond, in an exhibition curated by and featuring Central Saint Martins staff, students and alumni. Exploring the web from soil to supermarket and beyond, it examines land cultivation, food culture, dining choices and waste renewal.
